Its aromas from the roots of Karnaraka represnts its  tradition and an old wood art form.

Rosewood inlay work, has been practised since  many centuries in  Mysore, the essence of Karnataka.



It germinated and flouished  and enjoyed the patronage of the Maharajas of Mysore.

A high finesse of artmanship is presented in  The intricate rosewood inlay work.

Diligent craftsmen smoothen the rosewood carefully etch designs narrating stories of the past on its surface.





Each piece of wood cut and shaped, and different colours different shapes of wood pieces, fitted assembled to develop one family of story from history.



Traditionally, earlier craftsmen painstakingly assembled ivory to fit into the etched grooves.

Unfotunately, due to the ban on ivory, craftsmen meticulously inlay woods of different colours, acrylic, shell or plastic to create these impeccable works of art.

The craft of rosewood inlay has evolved to satisfy modern trends.

This time I came with an art from very young and charming artist.

Paintings# she presents are very lovable and speaking for its finesse and thoughtfulness.


I visited just like that India Habitat Centre............Nothing goes waste..........while enjoying the serenity of the place................came across ........in tbe foyer.........exhibited beautiful step stopping paintings.


Yes it was .....beautiful paintings..........on display .....by a beautiful charming young lady..........Ms. Sheetal Singh.



A self taught artist from New Delhi;

Has been working over a decade# have clients like GOLDMAM SACHS# exhibiting since 2010# in group shows.

Sheetal delves in various styles#landscapes#collages#figurative#keeping a balance between impressionism and modern art.

She expresses very well# jewel tones#textureand deliberate imperfection.

In her studio#she experiments with messy techniques# like mosaics#mixed media#collage#acrylic skins#plaster sculptures.



These paintings are still life work of French Baroque Art. An attempt to breathe life into a forgotton era.
